🌟 Supporting Every Child at St Michael’s CE Primary School

At St Michael’s, we believe every child deserves to thrive. Inclusion is the golden thread that goes through all that we do and our goal is to create a happy, inclusive environment where all pupils can reach their full potential.

What We Do

We support children with a wide range of needs, including:

  • Communication & Interaction (speech and language difficulties, autism)
  • Cognition & Learning (dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia)
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health
  • Sensory & Physical Needs (visual/hearing impairments, physical disabilities)
How We Work With Families
  • We follow Oxfordshire’s SEN guidance to identify and support needs.
  • Parents are involved at every stage through meetings, reviews, and regular updates.
  • Children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) have annual reviews.
Learning for All
  • Every child follows the National Curriculum with adaptive teaching.
  • We use specialist programmes for literacy and numeracy.
  • Reasonable adjustments include assistive technology, visual timetables, and personalised plans.
Our Expertise
  • Trained staff, an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant, a play therapist, and a Forest School Leader.
  • Access to specialists like educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, ATTACH and CAMHS.
Wellbeing & Inclusion
  • Weekly PSHE, social skills groups, and anti-bullying strategies.
  • All children are included in trips and activities, with support provided as needed.
Transitions Made Easy
  • Extra visits and meetings help children settle when joining or moving on.
  • We liaise with new schools to ensure smooth handovers.
