World Book Week
What a fabulous week! It began with John Foster, the poet, entertaining Years 5&6 with his poetry and tongue twisters. David Melling taught Y3&4 how to create characters. Acorn, Willow, Maple & Sycamore loved Nick Cope and his crazy stories and songs. Kirsty from Abingdon library shared some great reads from the library and showed us how to access the library online.
Of course no World Book Week is complete without a dressing up day and this year was just as fantastic! What amazing outfits and ideas. Nearly 200 books were represented by the children on that day. The staff all joined in by dressing as fairy tale characters.
The Open the Book team began World Book Day talking about one special book which is made up of 66 books: the Bible. Classes enjoyed buddying up to read together and so many books were shared.
Young Voices at the O2 Arena , London - January 2017
The school choir enjoyed their trip to the O2 to sing in a choir of 7,810 children from around the country. What an experience!
After months of extensive rehearsals with Mrs Aldridge, they were so excited to finally sing the songs they knew so well with top-quality musicians and performers.
