EYFS Home Learning for Term 4

The Early Years Team is hard at work developing online learning tools for you and your child during this period of uncertainty. Please bear with us as we develop systems for teaching, learning and assessment whilst children are at home.  The EYFS curriculum is a hands on, practical experience based curriculum and we will try our best to honour its intention in our home learning resources.

Our plan is to set up a Google Classroom for both the Nursery and Reception classes. We will use this to post activities and assignments which you can do at home.  You can then create observations of your child doing these activities on Tapestry and we will provide feedback and make comments on your child's learning. We will have more information about the Google Classroom shortly.

For now, we have enabled the Next Steps and Next Observations feature on Tapestry so you can see what your child is currently working on based on our current observations of their activities in the classroom.   This can be accessed using the web version only.  Below you will find the link to Tapestry page for children in the EYFS at St. Michael's as well as two brief tutorials on how to access this information and how to post observations using a mobile device. We will be posting individualised next steps as an observation on your child's learning journey on Tapestry over the next few days.

We have also included links to useful websites with activities and resources for you and your child.  Please don't forget to refer to the Term 4 Curriculum Outline below for activities to support your child at home based on our current topic "Growing".

Thank you for your patience and support,
